As the golden days of summer draw to a close and the lavender harvest reaches its final flourish, now is the perfect time to capture the essence of the season.
Fragrant, sustainable, and incredibly calming to create, this wreath is a beautiful way to honour the late-summer landscape. Whether hung on your front door, displayed indoors, or gifted to someone special, it brings a little Mediterranean magic into your world.
This is a slow, meditative craft – ideal for a quiet afternoon with a cup of tea and your favourite music in the background. The scent alone is enough to lift your spirits, and the process of arranging each stem is grounding and joyful.

How To Make It
1. Prepare the Lavender
Bundle your dried lavender into 5 small bunches – or 7 or 9 if you prefer a fuller look. Odd numbers tend to be more visually balanced. Each bundle should contain around 20 sprigs. Trim them to about 10 inches long and tie each one securely with twine.
2. Wrap the Wreath
Wrap your wreath base loosely with flexible wire. This will make it easier to attach the branches and flowers as you build.
3. Add the Olive Branches
Begin layering olive branches around the wreath base, allowing them to follow the curve naturally. Let some arch into the middle or rise into soft peaks to create a more organic look. Use twine or wire to gently secure each branch in place.
4. Position the Lavender Bundles
Now, place the lavender bundles evenly around the wreath. Using the face of a clock as a guide, try positioning them at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 o’clock. This helps to create a balanced, flowing design.
Tip: If you’re using fresh olive or lavender stems, mist the wreath lightly every couple of weeks. As it dries, it will retain its shape and soft fragrance for months to come.
