There’s something so beautifully nostalgic about gathering wildflowers. I love the rhythm of walking through a meadow or down a country lane, basket in hand, snipping stems as I go. There’s a real joy in bringing nature to the table, not just in the food we serve, but in the way we style our space.
I’m always inspired by that effortless, just-picked look. Wildflowers add such charm to a table setting, with their delicate shapes, untamed stems, and vibrant colours. They don’t demand perfection, they celebrate the beauty in the unexpected.

Start with the Picking
If you’re lucky enough to live near hedgerows, meadows or even a wild patch of garden, keep your eyes open. Wildflowers are at their most beautiful when picked fresh and early in the day.
Two of my favourites for summer tables:
Cow Parsley
Feathery, frothy, and wonderfully airy. Cow parsley adds height and softness to your arrangement. It’s like nature’s lace and pairs beautifully with rustic ceramics and natural linens. I love it on long tables outdoors or tucked into little bud vases.
Geum Coccineum ‘Queen of Orange’
These cheerful, fiery orange blooms bring a pop of colour and a sense of playfulness to any arrangement. Their slightly wild shape keeps them from feeling too formal. I love styling them with candles in earthy holders and our Lemon Grove napkins for a sunshine-filled summer table.

Styling Tips:
Mix heights: Use vintage jars, tiny glasses, or ceramic jugs at varying heights to create a loose, flowing tablescape.
Don’t overthink: Let the flowers fall naturally, nothing too symmetrical or stiff. Wildflowers want to be a little unruly.
Go seasonal: Add in sprigs of herbs like rosemary or mint, or even soft grasses if you’ve got them. They bring scent and texture.
Layer textures: Pair your florals with linen tablecloths like our Lemon Grove Tablecloth, woven placemats, and hand-tied napkins. Think warm, tactile, and welcoming.
A little goes a long way...
You don’t need extravagant arrangements. Sometimes a single stem in a bud vase beside each place setting feels just as special. Wildflowers invite people to slow down, breathe in the moment, and feel the joy of a table styled with heart.
Wherever you are, whether it’s the countryside or a city windowsill - there’s always something to forage and celebrate.
