During these hot summer months, one of the easiest and most beautiful ways to capture that relaxed Mediterranean vibe is by decorating your table with fresh lemons. I love using lemons of all shapes and sizes - scattered along a thoughtfully set table and mixed with a few seasonal flowers, they instantly create a sun-drenched, effortless elegance.

Whether you’re hosting an al fresco dinner or simply brightening up your kitchen, lemons offer a vibrant, affordable, and sustainable alternative to traditional floral arrangements. It’s a simple touch that brings warmth, color, and a taste of the Mediterranean right into your home.

They look especially striking on our Lemon Grove Linens, and naturally elegant on raw wooden surfaces. Lemons truly sing when paired with light or neutral tones, indoors or out.

Here are my top tips to decorate your table with them:

My Go To Lemon Tablescape

I love to cluster lemons (ideally with their stems and leaves still attached) down the length of the table. Save the prettiest ones with lush green leaves and place one at each individual place setting, resting on a folded napkin for a simple yet beautiful touch. Scattering tea lights throughout adds a soft glow, perfect for long summer evenings.

Create a Mediterranean Inspired Centerpiece

Pile whole lemons into glass vases, rustic wooden bowls, or decorative trays. For added greenery and texture, mix in sprigs of eucalyptus, olive branches, or rosemary. These natural elements give the table an organic, gathered feel that’s effortlessly chic.

Add candles for atmosphere

To amplify the lemon-yellow colour palette, I love using bold yellow candles like our Yellow Dining Candles. That said, a soft white would give you a more subtle look. Try tucking lemons around pillar candles in hurricane vases, or nestle tea lights among your lemon and greenery arrangement for a cosy, glowing tablescape.

Complement with Fresh flowers

Lemons pair so well with small sprigs of beautiful flowers scattered along the table in bud vases or simple jam jars for a more rustic look. For a full Provençal effect, use bunches of fresh lavender interspersed along the table. You can also pair lemons with white daisies, tulips, hydrangeas, or go all out with bright yellow sunflowers. Tuck a few blooms into your lemon centerpiece, or arrange mini bunches  in jars or bud vases for a complete and beautiful table.

Let it be fresh, simple, and joyful. Lemons are more than a garnish in a drink or an ingredient, they can be the star of a table that feels alive with color, scent, and sunshine.
